I wanted to take some time to consider my colour palette for this app and what sort of colours are suitable for my First Aid app. I took to the internet to search up what health and safety colours in the UK are, so I could pick an app colour scheme.

The worldwide standard for first aid signs is now the green cross – thanks to the ISO (the International Standards Organisation). This symbol uses the original Red Cross / Swiss Flag symbol, but makes it white on a green background (or vice versa). Green is the ISO colour for emergency and safety symbols (the emergency exit sign is one of the best-known examples).

The white cross used on other ISO symbols, showing that something has a first aid or medical purpose. The symbols for an eyewash station or an automated defibrillator are two good examples. This colour is now becoming the standard for all things first aid and medical – including many modern first aid kits and ambulance crew uniforms also.

Looking at the results above I have chosen the colour green as this is the UK’s colour when it comes to First Aid. I think I might want to incorporate different shades of green in my app to add some variation, perhaps I will include an accent colour maybe red. This is something that I could experiment with at a later date when it comes to building my app. The red could lead the users to the most critical information or it could highlights CALL TO ACTIONS.

Possible combinations-

I wanted to take this green colour and experiment in Figma with the different combinations that could be possible and suitable for my app. I kept these fairly simple, nothing too over powering.
